49 Days Without You

Dear Vic,
It’s been 49 days since you left this world.
We’ve prayed, lit incense, and spoken softly to the memory of you - hoping you could still hear our hearts.
They say after 49 days, the soul finds peace and begins its next journey, free from pain and earthly burdens.

Kenzo stood quietly each week - sometimes holding back tears, sometimes smiling at a memory.
He’d say, “I hope Dad is happy in heaven,” or “I wish he could come back.”
He even read The Invisible String at your memorial, his little hands clutching the pages like a lifeline.
He understands now that love doesn’t disappear just because someone is gone.

He misses you deeply - the basketball games, the bike rides, the video calls, your voice.
He still talks to you when he lights the incense, whispering updates about his day.
And today, after 49 days, he’s wearing his love for you in every step he takes forward.
He is your echo in this world, and I will make sure he never forgets the sound of your love.

Vic, you may no longer be by our side,
but your presence lingers - in Kenzo’s quiet strength, in our shared memories,
in every echo of love you left behind.

You are not gone.
You are simply walking a little further ahead now, somewhere we cannot yet reach.
But we carry you - in our thoughts, in our hearts, in the way we continue to live and love.

May your spirit be light.
May you rest easy.
And may you know that you are remembered deeply, always.

We love you.
And we will carry you - always.
